What I'm Currently Reading...

Twilight
Initial D
  • (Read: 2025)Initial D was, initially, something I've only watched back in my middle-school anime binges and didn't start reading until early 2025. Journey through the late 90s street racing culture of Japan with Takumi Fujiwara, a high school tofu delivery driver who discovers his passion for racing. a great series about Japanese car culture and personal growth! (4.5/5)
  • Tao Te Ching
  • (Read 2025) This book is essentially a manual to be a better and accepting person put into simple sentances with profound words that you understand the more you think about it. Lao-tzu's words aren't going to blow your mind if you're already a good person but can be a nice short read once in a while for some nice wisdom. (4/5)
  • 1984
  • (Read 2019) 1984, a long-famous piece of writing that makes you question how evil a world can be until you start connecting the dots with the modern world. Orwell created a true dystopian world that feels ever closer after it was written 80 years ago (4/5)
  • Garfield (Series)
  • (Read 2002-Probably Still Am) The series of comics that ruled a lot of my childhood. I was crazy enough to even read the official garfield dictionary just to reach the comics in between. There's just something to Garfields personality that hits that sarcastic sweet spot that never got tiring with me in the decades I've spent reading it. I mainly read the digests 1-42ish growing up but still love to poke around once in a while. (5/5)
  • Astrophysics For People In A Hurry
  • (Read 2019) Amazingly complicated and intricate subjects compressed into a wonderfully digestable book. That's honestly all I remember though besides the touches of comedy strewn in-between interstellar cosmic concepts. (4.5/5)
  • Incarceron
  • (Read: 2009?) I'm not sure when exactly I read this but it was definitely before I was a teen. Was really captivated by the idea of a living prison and the world that was in it.(4.5/5)
  • The Great Gatsby
  • (Read 2008) A book I read in highschool. I remember liking the atmosphere of a lot of the characters and the culture of the elite at the time in New York. (Will Read Again To Rate)
  • To Kill A Mockingbird
  • (Read 2010) A book pretty much everyone has read at some point in school. A classic tale from the American south about racial justice and a coming of age story about a girl called scout, the daughter of a lawer defending a black man wrongfully accused of a crime. (Will Rate Again When Reread)
  • The Catcher in the Rye(Series)
  • (Read 2002-Probably Still Am) Another classic school read. This one is a bit tough to remember but I know it starts with him in college and ending up on a train with a prostitute. A story about growing up that can seem a little uncomfortable but is a relatable one for many (Will rate when read again)
  • The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
  • (Read 2018) I'm a sucker for humour (Thanks Garfield) and as such this story about an epic journey after the destruction of earth with illogical twists really made me enjoy the creativity that was wonderfully put together in this book. I'm definitely rereading this book as well at some point as I believe I stopped at the third book (42/5)
  • Dragon Rider
  • (Read 2007)I remember renting this book out at the school library during my childhood and instantly being engrossed in it's magical world that lovingly touches the real. I simply remember loving the feeling of adventure in this book and would like to leave it as such. (Nostalgia/5)
  • Inkheart
  • (Read 2008)Another childhood fave, this is a wonderufl series about a family gift that sets forth a magical epic featuring a young girl that tries to fix everything. I will say however that despite being in love with the first two books, something happened during the third that made me stop having as much interest in it and I stopped halfway. (Nostalgia/5)
